Slab Camp is an old campground at the end of Forest Road 2875, in the foothills above Sequim, where the Slab Camp and Deer Ridge trails begin. There are no numbered sites and no tables: rock fire rings in a meadow edged with boulders, and more spots in the woods along a creek.
It is our all-time favorite in the Olympics. It cost nothing when we mapped it, it is 40 minutes from Sequim, and, as the note on our favorite spot says, we were always the only ones here.
